myHappymind programme
A new initiative for 2025/26
We are proud to have launched myHappymind, a pioneering national programme designed to promote children’s mental health, wellbeing, and resilience, here at Rodborough.
We have recognised a growing need to support children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, both within the school and the wider community. Supported by the NHS, myHappymind lets us focus on SEMH with a structured, science-based programme that evolves with the children as they progress through school. It also builds on our commitment to listening to pupils’ voices and fostering open conversations around neurodiversity and mental health.
To ensure the programme becomes a visible and celebrated part of school life, we have introduced a central display board showcasing the programme’s modules and characters, provided engaging classroom resources, and installed a large banner at the school entrance. Staff members are also wearing My Brain pin badges as part of the initiative.
myHappymind modules
Meet Your Brain: Understanding how your brain works and how to ensure we look after it so that we can manage our emotions and be at our best. Growth mindset is a key part of this too.
Celebrate: Understanding your unique Character Strengths and learning to celebrate them. This is a fantastic module for building self-esteem.
Appreciate: Understanding why gratitude matters and how you can develop gratitude as a habit. Gratitude is key to well-being and resilience and we're all about making it a lifelong strategy!
Relate: Understanding why positive relationships matter and how to build them. We're focussed on the building blocks of good relationships and friendships.
Engage: Understanding how to set meaningful goals that matter and how to stay resilient in times of challenge. This module is all about building self-esteem and resilience too.
Pupils begin each Monday morning with dedicated myHappymind sessions. Pupils in Years 1–6 use journals to guide their reflections, while younger children in Early Years use visual resources, communication cards, and practical activities.
myHappymind at home
Parents can continue wellbeing conversations at home supported by access to a companion myHappymind app. Please ask your class teacher if you cannot access the app at home.
